In the stock market, traders use pivot point to find the reversal point in the stock market. It helps you to find the directional and range of trade in the stock market. If market continues to trade above the pivot point it signifies the uptrend in the market. If the index or stock continues to trade below the pivot point level it signifies the downtrend in the market.
Procedure for calculating the Pivot point
- Identify the trend of nifty 50
- Download the excel sheet of Pivot point calculator with implied volatility Excel sheet
- Visit https://in.investing.com/
- Open the nifty 50 from the indices list
- Note the Close - high - low price of nifty 50
- Visit the link
- Check the implied volatility if index trade in uptrend or check the implied volatility if index trade-in downtrend.
- Fill the data as per given columns in excel
- If stock or index trade in uptrend buy when the index or stock touches the pivot point
- If stock or index trade in downtrend sell when the index or stock touches the pivot point
