In this blog, we will share an excel sheet which includes the open positions of FII-DII-PRO-CLIENT in all different segments like index futures, index options, stock futures. This excel sheet will help us to identify the smart money but the question arises here is what is the definition of smart money. Out of four who is smart money. The answer is the client type who has maximum positions combines is smart money. It can be FII+PRO or DII+PRO or PRO+CLIENT or DII+CLIENT. Bigger whale eats small fish we need to find the whale.

Standard rules for bullish and bearish positions

  • Index Futures Longs: +ve number in longs is bullish, the -ve number in longs is bearish because previous long positions are closed sentiments are changed to bearish
  • Index Futures Short: +ve number, in short, is bearish, the -ve number, in short, is bullish because previous short positions are closed sentiments are changed to bullish.
  • Index Call Long: +ve number in longs is bullish, the -ve number in longs is bearish because previous long positions are closed sentiments are changed to bearish
  • Index Call Short: +ve number, in short, is bearish, the -ve number, in short, is bullish because previous short positions are closed sentiments are changed to bullish.
  • Index Put Long: +ve number, in long, is bearish, the -ve number, in long, is bullish because previous long positions are closed sentiments are changed to bullish. 
  • Index Put Short: +ve number, in short, is bullish, the -ve number, in short, is bearish because previous short positions are closed sentiments are changed to bearish.
  • Stock Future Long: +ve number in longs is bullish, the -ve number in longs is bearish because previous long positions are closed sentiments are changed to bearish
  • Stock Future Short: +ve number, in short, is bearish, the -ve number, in short, is bullish because previous short positions are closed sentiments are changed to bullish.

How To Analyze the daily data data

  1. Download the Excel sheet 
  2. Find maximum traded area daily data columns
  3. Read the summary Who is bullish and bearish
  4. Make the two patterns with similar positions  FII+PRO or PRO+CLIENT or FII + CLIENT 
  5. A combination of two will cause the third player to lose in the game.

    here in client summary daily data section index put positions are 25739 n daily data is bullish but same in fii summary daily data section index put positions are 10205 n daily data is Bearish , how? how its possible when puts are long for clients its bullish but for fii its bearish?? its v confusing please revert.
